Most people are outraged upon hearing this question. "What do you mean, `Who is your god?' they ask, `My god is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.' " And most of these people will be shocked to find out that their proclamation that their god is the Creator of the heavens and the earth is no more than lip service, and that they are in fact destined for Hell (12:106).

Your god is whoever or whatever occupies your mind most of the time.

Your god can be your children (7:190), your spouse (9:24), your business (18:35), or your ego (25:43). This is why we note that one of the most important and most repeated commandments in the Quran is:

"O you who believe, you shall remember God frequently; glorify Him day and night." [33:41]

To put this commandment into practice, we must establish certain habits whereby we guarantee that God occupies our minds more than anything else. The Quran helps us establish such soul saving habits:

1. The Contact Prayers (Salat): those who observe the 5 daily prayers come a long way towards commemorating God a significant proportion of their waking hours. Salat helps us remember God not only during the few minutes of prayer, but also throughout the times of anticipation. At 11:00 AM, one may look at his or her watch to see if the noon prayer is due yet. This act causes one to think about God, and one is credited accordingly (20:14).

2. Commemorate God before eating: Verse 6:121 enjoins us to mention God's name before we eat: "You shall not eat from that upon which God's name has not been mentioned."

3. God Willing (IN SHAA ALLAH): "You shall not say, `I will do this or that tomorrow,' without saying, `God willing' (IN SHAA ALLAH). If you forget to do this, then apologize and say, `May my Lord guide me to do better next time.'" [18:24]. This is a direct commandment that we must carry out, no matter who we are talking with.

4. God's Gift (MAA SHAA ALLAH): To invoke God's protection for our beloved objects - our children, our cars, our homes, etc. - we are enjoined in 18:39 to say "MAA SHAA ALLAH" (This is God's gift).

5. Glorify God day and night: When we eat anything, we shouldn't be like animals; we must reflect on God's creation of the food we are eating - the flavor, our enjoyment due to the senses God has given us, the perfect packaging of the banana or the orange, the varieties of sea foods created by God, etc. - and glorify Him as we enjoy His provisions. When we see a beautiful flower, or animal, or sunsets, we must glorify God. We must seize every possible opportunity to remember and glorify God, so that God may be our God.

6. First Utterance: Make it a habit to say: "In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. There is no other god besides God," the moment you wake up every morning. If you establish this good habit, this is what you will utter when you are resurrected.

Sorry to disagree,

Many make the mistake of saying that Christians,Jews and Muslims, worship the same God! I say… untrue!

When you follow Gods plan, according to HIS plan then and only then do you truly worship the GOD of all creation.

Interesting verse, With out faith it is impossible to please HIM, for he that cometh to GOD must believe that HE is and that HE is a rewarded of them that diligently seek HIM. You have to have reasoning in order to believe. The bible always gives examples of who God is listing too.. and blessing. Certain people He has visited and not always Israelites) Whether it be someone outside the common wealth of Israel (which for a Jew is a impossibility) but history has proven them totally wrong, in accordance with their own scriptures and prophets.

In the light of GOD sending Jesus, and in light of the revelation that Jesus gave to mankind, and the importance of who He is and his purpose..... Only then, considering those facts can we make a true determination of the who, what, why, when and where of truth.

If you consider what the Jews say about Jesus (and that varies accordingly) but in general they do not believe that he (Jesus) is who he/others proclaimed him to be, or who He says He is. They reject him and the Muslims reject his validity also.

Then there’s the Muslims? They acknowledged Jesus but refused his message as did the Jews. The question is: Is he the lamb of God? Did he die on the cross for every ones sin? Can you experience a NEW BIRTH by coming to him? Are these word true or are they fictional? The bible being the number one best seller of all time gives a little validity to the proof, but that’s not the deciding factor.

Muslims have created there own version of practices and like the Jews have rejected Jesus.

Question is IF God sent Jesus, IF this is Gods master plan that all come to him through Jesus, the head corner stone, then what relevance does the Jews and Muslims doctrines hold if there not in agreement with Gods plan? In conclusion they are not following GOD. So they give God honor (only according to themselves) but not according to his plan ..and that’s the only one that counts. ….. In the end HE will refuse there requests by saying: Depart from me I never knew you! That’s His saying, NOT MINE! I’m not the Judge, nor will I judge the Judge.

First and foremost God is correct. We not only believe that Jesus is who he says he is, but our coupling with him at the Spirit’s beckoning, we experienced the new birth.

Not following Gods plan will not give any leeway in the courts of judgment.

We are not worshiping the same GOD! In order for him to be the same we would all hear the same message….NO?

Or, could it be where those professing to be Christian are, or think they are, worshiping the God of the Bible hearing their own message instead of listening to the words that came out of Jesus mouth they are putting words in Jesus mouth?

Are they worshiping God in the way he approves or requires according to Scripture?

One person recently said, and I thought it was a good illustration, that there are people who put God in a box and bring him out on Sunday morning before putting him back in the box.

Matthew 7:22,23. John 4:23,24.

Conceptions of God
Main article: Conceptions of God

Conceptions of God vary widely. Theologians and philosophers have studied countless conceptions of God since the dawn of civilization. The Abrahamic conceptions of God include the trinitarian view of Christians, the Kabbalistic definition of Jewish mysticism, and the Islamic concept of God. The dharmic religions differ in their view of the divine: views of God in Hinduism vary by region, sect, and caste, ranging from monotheistic to polytheistic; the view of God in Buddhism is almost non-theist. In modern times, some more abstract concepts have been developed, such as process theology and open theism. Conceptions of God held by individual believers vary so widely that there is no clear consensus on the nature of God.[10] The contemporaneous French philosopher Michel Henry has however proposed a phenomenological approach and definition of God as phenomenological essence of Life.

I took the above from wikipedia. They state those three (Christians, Jews, Muslims) all share the Abrahamic conception of God. I agree that is a big common ground. Of course the difference is around the savior.

They arent saying it's the same religion but that it is the same God. The religions are different and the people (human) interpretation of what to do is different, but it doenst mean they believe in a different creator. Don't they all believe in Adam and Eve and Moses and Abraham? The differences come in the later "chapters".

Ah, well then that's easy. Actually, I have several gods, in no particular order:

Beer
Porn
Vegas/gambling
Football

Actually, that is about the correct order.
