What country is better than the United States TODAY?
And tell us why.

You mean like that?

‘Obama’s Mother of All Political Lies and the Town Hall Mayhem It Caused’

Internal Memo Confirms Big Giveaways In White House Deal With Big Pharma

Quote:
the White House agreed to oppose any congressional efforts to use the government's leverage to bargain for lower drug prices or import drugs from Canada -- and also agreed not to pursue Medicare rebates or shift some drugs from Medicare Part B to Medicare Part D, which would cost Big Pharma billions in reduced reimbursements.
Quote:
Stories in the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times last week indicated that the administration was confirming that such a deal had been made.

Critics on Capitol Hill and online responded with outrage at the reports that Obama had gone behind their backs and sold the reform movement short. Furthermore, the deal seemed to be a betrayal of several promises made by then-Sen. Obama during the presidential campaign, among them that he would use the power of government to drive down the costs of drugs to Medicare and that negotiations would be conducted in the open.
Quote:
Obama is walking a tightrope here. He wants to keep PhRMA from opposing the bill, and benefits by having its support, which now includes a $150 million advertising campaign. That's a fortune in politics -- more than Republican presidential candidate John McCain spent on advertising during his entire campaign -- but it's loose change in the pharmaceutical business.
That's from HuffPo, hardly a "right wing extremist" site!

Obama, making secret deals with "Big Pharma?"

He gets a $150 million advertising campaign from them for his "healthcare" scheme... more than Republican presidential candidate John McCain spent on advertising during his entire campaign!!!!!

In exchange, the White house would "oppose any congressional efforts to use the government's leverage to bargain for lower drug prices or import drugs from Canada -- and also agreed not to pursue Medicare rebates or shift some drugs from Medicare Part B to Medicare Part D, which would cost Big Pharma billions in reduced reimbursements."

UH-OH!!! People aren't gonna like this very much!!!!!

Stay healthy friends!

No, I mean when we had the ability to live without ideologues butting their nose in our business.

Slavery, of course, was wrong...and it was corrected. Using your standard here, one would have to say that the founding fathers who owned slaves were far from great. Right?

You sound so "liberal" in your reply. I wonder what institutions ended slavery and enacted child labor laws...hhhhmmmmmm

But they did. They ended slavery, child labor, and gave women the vote.

It wasn't corrected for another 65 years.
And the founding fathers were a product of their time, as we are of ours.

The Republicans ended slavery.
The first anti-child labor laws were started in 1904. Teddy Roosevelt was President.

When someone says that the United States is not the greatest nation on earth, another nation must be the greatest by default.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to ask which nation is the best?

I don't need to name one. Hannity told me that this country was the greatest, best country that God ever gave man on the face of the earth. If I don't believe him, who can I believe?

I mean come on... I even posted the Venn-diagram to prove it! Thank you, Colbert.
