Irish need not apply.

According to my mom, there used to be 1001 "Pat and Mike" Irish jokes. The only one I know:

Pat and Mike were building a house. Pat was nailing up the siding. He reached into his nail apron, pulled out a nail, pounded into the house. He reached into his nail apron, pulled out a nail, tossed it over his shoulder. This pattern, more or less, repeated.

"Pat," Mike yelled. "Why are you throwing away half the nails?"

"Well, you see Mike," Pat said, "half of these nails are made wrong! They have the point on the wrong end of the nail!!" Pat held up a nail to show Mike.

"Pat you dunce!" shouted Mike. "Those nails are for THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HOUSE!!!"

Too much for a Sunday night! Thank you.

I've recruited an unnamed (but known by you all) assistant in a search for the latest "white" jokes (Pineygirl struck a chord).

But OHH, you've demonstrated (at least to li'l ol' me) that "white" jokes take all forms (and, I always thought, non-abrasive). That's incredibly refreshing these days. We've forgotten how to giggle at ourselves. Thanks again.

WHAT??? Perhaps if modern white people met white slave owners they would not only have differing opinion of their own race, but also of those enslaved (and their descendants).

No, it takes an instant to change human nature, but it takes a looooooooong time to change the perception of human nature. Until that is gained, human nature will still be considered the pathetic, weak, and relatively evil example it is.

And when the perception changes, you see just how wrong the old understanding of human nature is...and the WORLD changes. All in that instant.

Since jokes are perceptive in nature, and no one really has a right to determine the proper response of the other. Since we seem to think we need to "laugh at ourselves" without caring about how others feel about our attempt at humor, allow me a joke.

Now remember, we seem to be saying in this thread that others really have no right to judge what makes them offended or not. WE can only judge for others what is truly offensive to them...they really have no input. And if WE aren't offended and they are, well they are just insensitive to our needs. They need to change their sensitives.

Q: What did Piney's mom say to her when she got mad?

A: I should have swallowed you when I had the chance!

Now, remember, I would not ordinarily post these jokes, but since we are determining what is right for others to be offended at, allow me to try another.

Q: What is the difference between Jesus and his picture?

A: It only takes one nail to hang his picture!

Now, I would assume some of you small minds and whimpy characters are now putting me on your ignore list. Perhaps you feel a bit angry, and feel I should not be telling such jokes. If you don't feel this way, believe me, I have a LOT more coming...and I will be sure to hit a nerve sooner or later. This "nerve" is how others feel when you make fun of their race, sexuality, and so on.

The real question is whether such offensive actions are necessary...truly necessary. Perhaps if we cannot restrain ourselves from hurting the feelings of others, we really can't blame others for not being able to restrain themselves in any scenario?

Now, Lsn2Mkt, I am sure I can come up with a few funny jokes about Polish war heroes in concentration camps, or about squids and the homosexuality on ships at sea for months. But I wonder, is it really necessary for me to push that bar, one that may offend you, just to see how much we are willing to "laugh" at ourselves. If we truly choose to laugh out ourselves, that is our choice, but do we have the right to offend others to see how much they find us funny? or judge them at their reaction?

I would seem to think not. But I am just some liberal pansy ass. Perhaps I think burning the flag is funny...so you don't mind if I light one up just to get a laugh, do you? Wait, I am sorry, the only sensitivities the world need be concerned with are yours...

Um, ok.

Where do I begin......

Lets start with the Piney joke. You are a true fucktard. If I could find you and confront you, I would teach you a lesson from the "neighborhood". Unfortunately, I cannot afford the twenty to life, I would get. I am embarrassed for your children, that you would try to make a point by insulting and degrading a friend of all of us(except you and Faux Sheri). Yes, I take exception to that in a BIG WAY.

Let me elaborate. If you were even half the man you proclaim to be, this conversation would take place in a public place, in person. Your children would not recognize you when the discussion was over. I promise.

Now to the Jesus joke. I will let him be the judge and jury for that one. He has a good sense of humor.

Now, on to the Lsn joke which you failed to complete. I understand your hesitation. As a fucking pussy and coward, you must be concerned with the ramifications of a real military man finding you and crushing your skull. I appreciate your fear. Yet , yearn for the day you need any one of those who served. I only pray they treat you with the disregard and hostility you have shown here tonight.

As for me, personally, I find you to be more than irrelevant and a complete douchebag and coward. You are a bigot and and a dicklicker of the worst kind. Please.... learn to pray for forgiveness. You will get none from me. May you someday need serious healthcare and pain meds, and may I be the one to accidentally forget to help. Drop dead fucker.

I believe we often attempt to disregard the feelings of others in order to reinforce our own feeling of superiority. In other words, we actually have an inferiority complex that needs to prove to others, and ourselves, how wonderful we are because we can disregard their feelings. In this, we then wish for them to be as great as we are in that we can take "white jokes", or "polish jokes", or "Italian jokes" and not feel like they do. It's sad that we just can't tell our jokes and laugh at them without being at the expense of others.

So what I wanted to do was a little experiment. What if I found "jokes" that attacked our real sensitivities? How would those great people who thought it silly that racial jokes offended some deal with something that struck similar chords in them?

You can see by PR1's response that he can't take a joke...so much that he has to but in with his awesome machismo and tough guy attitude. In truth I wonder why he found no offense with the offensive ethnic jokes told earlier? or Piney's rather insensitive racial remarks?

What these geniuses forget about those awesome diverse times in the 1950's was that there wasn't any community outside of your own. Blacks never strayed into white areas, whites never strayed into black areas, Italians never went in Pollack areas, and so on. There was no "ethnic" diversity in America, there was no tolerance, there was hatred, intolerance and disharmony. This is the era her eminence thinks was "great". that was, until the "new coloreds" move in...

I know some not so new "coloreds" who would wipe the floor with her Piney ass for even saying it. But then again, her intolerant ass would sit quiet in that circumstance...just like PR1 would should he ever meet me. It's all talk, something these conservatives on this forum are good at. All talk...no action.

Lsn2Mkt, being from another branch of the military, you know the joking that goes on between branches and that sometimes leads to violence in off base watering holes. Contrary to what PR1 thinks, I refrained from telling those jokes because I honor your service and that of your father's, and simply because I thought the point was proven with the jokes already told.

But allow me another for PR1:

A Jew and a PR1 go to heaven.

St. Peter tells the Jew, "We're full, so you can go back, but only if you promise to stop being cheap."

Then he tells PR1 the same, but "only if you promise to stop thinking about gay sex."

They go back, but then the Jew sees a penny on the floor, tries to pick it up, and they both die.

Oh, PR1...your true and very weak colors are showing. Are you the "new" colored that Piney was speaking of?

I renounced violence in my life about 4 years ago. In my life, I have spent time in jail for aggravated and simple assault, and have inflicted great pain on myself and others for the waste of life violence is. If you think I need prove myself in the good ole' Republican manner of hurting you, you are sadly mistaken. Now, that isn't to say that I would not meet you, or face you, it simply means I see no joy or comfort in hurting you. It does not make me more right, more tolerant, or better in any other way.

As for your remark about my children not recognizing me...well, I would rather them not recognize me for your lack of intelligence and consciousness then for my own. I believe I will teach them a more valuable lesson in my restraint than in your lack of it.

You can PM me with your contact information anytime you wish to discuss.

Quote:

And her characterization of "new" coloreds doesn't embarrass you? So, when I act like you guys you can't take it, but somehow any black person or gay person or non-conservative on here is supposed to be able to deal with the lack of sensitivity you and your friends provide? Now you get a taste of how they feel, and why they respond EXACTLY like you did (well, some anyway).

Amazing, isn't it?

This conversation has taken place many time in many public forums. Again, I would rather my children not recognize me for your actions than for my acting like you. Manhood isn't measured in the ability to inflict violence, is it?

Did you say "learn to pray for forgiveness" AFTER that rant??? LMFAO!!!! You say that I am a "dick licker" right after you say I am a bigot. Does this mean you are bigoted against dick lickers? Piney may take exception to that!

LOL! Not surprised at all with that comment from PR1. He had to crack at some point. We can't all pretend to be mature, intelligent, unbiased, thinking adults when we are quite the opposite, can we?

To be honest, I was going to let the whole "democrats will rot in hell" rant, and a couple of others, to slide by. Maybe you were having a bad day or couple of days. Unfortunately it seems that those were your true colors indeed. In conclusion, you should probably get on with your life. A public forum is not the place for you to be conversing. Stick to the family room and yelling at the T.V. Have a good one, you ignorant little child.
