Unfortunately, it's true, allright.

Can you even IMAGINE what the press would have done had a Republican president even acknowledged someone who made statements like that? That would have been fodder for endless news stories for weeks, with people calling the Republican president a traitor, a hypocrite, etc. etc.

When is America going to wake up and realize their god is nothing more than the Wizard of Oz?

Brazil's Lula raps 'white' crisis

By Gary Duffy
BBC News, Sao Paulo, Brazil

Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has said the world's poor people should not be forced to pay for the global financial crisis.

President Lula said white, blue-eyed people - not Indians, nor black, nor poor people - had created and spread the crisis throughout the world.

He was speaking at a news conference during a visit by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Mr Brown was in Brazil in advance of the G20 summit in London next week.

Mr Brown made a joint appeal with the Brazilian leader for the world's biggest economies to provide $100bn to boost global trade.

Both leaders also appealed for the stalled round of Doha trade talks to be resumed.

'Irrational behaviour'

President Lula has long argued that poor and developing nations have been victims of mistakes made in richer countries, caused by irresponsibility or a lack of regulation in the world's banking systems.

It was not a surprise, therefore, that he would return to this topic just days ahead of the crucial G20 summit in London.

What was perhaps less expected was the way in which the Brazilian leader chose on this occasion to identify those to blame for the current economic situation.

"It is a crisis caused and encouraged by the irrational behaviour of white people with blue eyes," the president said, "who before the crisis appeared to know everything, but are now showing that they know nothing."

If Mr Brown appeared uncomfortable with this claim, he did his best not to show it. Questioned by a reporter, President Lula expanded his theory.

"As I do not know any black or indigenous bankers," the president added. "I can only say it is not possible for this part of mankind, which is victimised more than any other, to pay for the crisis."

Mr Brown said he preferred not to attribute blame to individuals, and the rest of the news conference focused on a more conventional message of unity in advance of the G20 summit in London.

As well as the plan for a $100bn fund to boost world trade, there were calls for greater regulation of financial markets, strong words against protectionism and an appeal for the stalled Doha round of world trade talks to be restarted.

Obama says he loves Brazil's Lula, the world's 'most popular politician'

By Associated Press

11:25 AM PDT, April 2, 2009

LONDON (AP) — President Barack Obama — wildly popular the world over — says he isn't the globe's most admired politician. He says that title belongs to Brazil's president.

During a lunch at the Group of 20 summit in London, Obama shook hands with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and said: "This is my man, right here. I love this guy."

A bemused Silva — who does not speak English — appeared to enjoy the comments as they were relayed by an interpreter, grasping Obama's outstretched hand with both of his.

Obama followed the comment by saying Silva is "the most popular politician on Earth" and that it is because of "his good looks."

The comments were broadcast on Brazilian television and Internet sites in the original English with Portuguese subtitles.

I guess it is OK to call Americans "arrogant", "nation of whiners", "cowards" and "proud of my country for the first time in my adult life", when you are a socialist trying to get your ideas and plans forced down the throats of the taxpayers.

I was impressed with Obama's ability to get the Europeans to embrace him. I think he would be an excellent leader for France or even China. How can we nominate him to reach his goals? He obviously is embarrassed to be considered an American. I say we all chip in to have his moving expenses paid for by US. See ya later TRAITOR!

I've been asking this question (insert "religion" for "America") for years. I don't have an answer.

As far as the posts, more hate-filled 10th graders posting blogs for advertisement cash. 10 comments between post posts, Not surprised. I loled at this one, because I think they actually thought it was true and posted it seriously.

Are you on something?

Your post makes absolutely no sense.

Piney, you what is really funny? I started to have some reservations about hating this new administration. I thought that perhaps the right wing crazies were over reacting to his past. I tried to research his past and tried to look for the bright spots of his policies. I even retracted some of my comments. I really tried to get behind his stands on some issues.

The problems arose with the fact that everything I was concerned about, came to fruition TEN FOLD ! Within the first 100 hundred days of his presidency the Constitution has been desecrated and used as a comedic prop. If we allow this hatred for all that we stood for, all my family and friends DIED for, then we are NO BETTER than Pelosi, Reid and Obama. We cannot stand by and allow the President to belittle America on the world stage, regardless of how his speech writers tried to soften the blow.

I agree.
So many of my closest friends (and some relatives) worship Obama that I, too, started to wonder if I was the lone crazy in suspecting that he was not what he pretended to be.

For a while there I tried to just sit back and wait to see what unfolded. Everything happened so quickly, though, it shocked the daylights out of me. I really thought it would take him much longer to start implementing his programs.

Between the ideas he is actively funding and those he has the nerve to even consider, I find it hard to believe that everyone else isn't seeing what's going on.

1) Tracking ammunition and limiting its purchase
2) Forcing gun owners to carry $1 million liability insurance (at about $1200/year)
3) Promising a tax cut, then neglecting it.
4) Placing the next generation in more debt than can ever, ever be repaid.
5) Making us vulnerable to nations like China, who don't exactly love us.
6) Forcing universal health care down our throats without any public debate or discussion of its merits or costs.
7) Promising transparency, then preventing the lawmakers and the public from being able to read the bailout and the budget. And screaming that it has to be passed NOW.
8) Promising bipartisanship, then getting his proxies to try to implement budget reconciliation so healthcare can slip through without a super majority.
9) Dissing the Prime Minister of England.
10) Calling terrorism and war something other than what it is, as if that will change anything. (Pure "1984" tactics)
11) Taking over ownership of our banks and private industry.
12) Saying that international law trumps our constitution.
13) Punishing success by taxing it to death.
14) Saying the dollar would no longer be the world currency, then backing away from it. Which is the true statement?
15) Wanting to eliminate the mortgage deduction.
16) Jacking up the estate tax on money that was already taxed, to more than half - thus preventing parents from helping the next generation, who will be totally poor from paying off the debt.
17) Offering to have tea with known terrorist leaders, and pretending they can be reasoned with.
18) Saying Lula is a great man, after Lula made that racist statement.
19) Having his proxies propose "internet-tapping" to find out what we're saying.

And I'm sure I've forgotten more.

You ARE the lone crazy Piney, at least you are starting to see your place and value in the scope of things.

Keep at it, you may soon realize that your opinions and beliefs matter little in the world, and you had better change your ways before it's too late!!!

Otherwise, you will be worm food without having realized any of your true potential. That is the greatest tragedy of human existence.

Sorry Arius. I beg to differ. Piney is absolutely correct on many of her observations. It is the likes of you and the Faux Sheri that are screwed up
