Get used to it, Mr. Technology. Blogs and other online sources are the news reports of the future. So you'd better learn to evaluate them for their factual content now or you'll be completely flummoxed when they become the standard.

Absolutely. This is why I attempted to evaluate this particular article, which was devoid of any factual content. The only problem will be that line of authenticity. With papers, the reporters and columnists, etc are interviewed and evaluated before they can have anything published. With a lot of these internet sources, there is nothing to stop an 8th grader from posting his thesis on the Jedi temple as it applies to the creation of the Constitution. Gossip, rumors, and slander will be part of the new wave internet media because people think that blogs are reliable sources of news.

It could be that Eugene Jarecki is a propagandist for the extreme. Why would I want to trade in one form of propaganda for another? Wait, if he and his brothers say something is true...it MUST be true. Odd how we decide what is the most acceptable version of truth.

And when did the media turn into a propaganda machine for the government? During Vietnam? Watergate? Iran-Contra? Monicagate?

You guys will do ANYTHING to get those in fear of government to believe your way. The truth is our government only has the power we GIVE IT. If they take away our gun rights, it's because we elected those who would. If they wiretap us illegally, it's because we support those who would. If they disregard our Constitution, it's because the majority of us disregard it. Our government is a reflection of US, and that is why we as Americans get spit on when we go to foreign nations. That is why others would blow themselves up to kill us.

America, after all, is about the majority, not about you extreme fringes always trying to start trouble to promote yourselves, your ideology, and your need for an enemy.

Now, can anyone please tell me something more important, like what time the Phillies home opener is this Sunday?

The type of country we once were is history. The type of people we once were is history. The type of people we have become is PATHETIC. Based on the last few elections, people do NOT care and do NOT take the election process seriously. This is why we have a community activist as President. This is why we have Corslime as Gov. This is EXACTLY why I am scared to death!

If you do not accept an objective standard of truth, but find it "within," then by definition you are deciding the most acceptable version of truth.

Therefore, the "truth" can change on a whim, at any time. Convenient.

Don't be scared...it is a waste of energy and a submission to that which you can control (why submit to something you are capable of controlling?). Instead, begin focusing on the things that really matter...like right now. It is silly to worry about a future both out of your control and not guaranteed. It is surely true that those who died on 9/11 did not care what our reaction to it would be.

You also forgot to mention that the GOP is meaningless in the American landscape because they too got all caught up in the wrong things. It is a human nature devoid of truth, which is, of course, not true human nature. Until we get back to our selves, we will never get back to our selves.

In that I say action is certainly more important that then words and diversion on forums like this and the media who is only good at creating such diversions. Worry about your self, improving your self, finding your self, and disciplining your self and not about anything else and you will find the strength to change the world.

Pick up "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman. I have read it about 7 times and still am learning. Not to mention other books on a similar topic, but that is a good starting point. Of course I am assuming you can stretch from your box long enough to try it.

There are two types of truth, mindful truth (absolute truth) and mindless truth (ironic that mindless truth is all about the mind).

If you found a standard of absolute truth "within" you would see that not only is your version not objective, but that all of the illusions you seek to call "truth" do not meet such a standard. And if you are never sure you are Being (because of course it could all be an illusion generated by your mindless truth), then you can never be sure that what you are Being is absolute truth.

True “Being” is therefore an unattainable state. Like sinlessness.

The difference is that Being remains eternally unattainable. On the other hand, the God of the Bible tells us that He, in His infinite wisdom, has made provision for the fact that we cannot attain sinlessness (or “Being”) on our own. And since He is God, he is trustworthy.

All we have to do is simply “Be” in Him and the whole point of trying to achieve sinlessness (or “Being”) becomes irrelevant. It has been achieved for us by Someone Who has the power to do it.

Forever.

Makes so much more common sense than mindless, endless navel-gazing, IMHO.

You need to read post 4 on page 4. That is my thorough evaluation of your "article."

As far as calling people names, your beloved author does plenty of that. Don't fight fire with fire? OK.

Teleprompters have been around for years and years. Don't be so naive to think that every president since the advent of television hasn't used a teleprompter. I think technology really befuddles you.
