Andrews went to a message system (left a message). The email service is down...does anyone else think that suspicious???????

I simply asked him to reconsider his support of the bailout saying "our nation does not need socialist enterprise to support failed capitalist endeavors," plus my name and address.

As left for Speaker Pelosi, Senators Lautenberg and Menendez:

I implore you to please reconsider your support of the financial bailout (conveniently now termed "economic stabilization"), and to vote NO toward the socialist support of a capitalist failure. Our nation simply needs to learn from this mistake to ensure it does not happen again, and stealing from our children will not teach us a thing.

Please vote NO to this further demise of American strength and resolve.

I wish to thank you sincerely for your opposition to the bailout (now conveniently called the "economic stabilization bill"). I implore you to continue your opposition on behalf on all Americans tired to being overtaxed for the whims of socialist endeavors benefiting only a select few.

Although outside your district, you speak for all South Jerseyans who seek to find smaller government and continued freedoms in the greatest nation on earth.

The House of Reps website has been down since Monday.

I wrote to LoBiondo through his campaign website, maybe you can try that for Andrews. Most congressmen have their local district offices as well. Andrews commutes to DC so he should be pretty well in touch with his local office.

I did that for Andrews. His receptionist, Beverly, sent me to a voicemail once she found out it was about the bailout.

I take it the Senate office is not having any issues with email...

I just wanted to thank your Congressman for being the stand up guy he is and implore him to remain such.

The House is limiting e-mails from the public to prevent its websites from crashing due to the enormous amount of mail being submitted on the financial bailout bill.

As a result, some constituents may get a ‘try back at a later time’ response if they use the House website to e-mail their lawmakers about the bill defeated in the House on Monday in a 205-228 vote.

The CAO issued a “Dear Colleague” letter Tuesday morning informing offices that it had placed a limit on the number of e-mails sent via the “Write Your Representative” function of the House website. It said the limit would be imposed during peak e-mail traffic hours.

“This measure has become temporarily necessary to ensure that Congressional websites are not completely disabled by the millions of e-mails flowing into the system,” the letter reads.

and

“We think we will see this spike [in Web traffic] until when and if another bill is hammered out,” Ventura said. “There’s going to be a lot of interest in this all week.”

To me, something is fishy that the greatest nation on earth has issues with email service in the Capitol.
