Default Chicago Annenberg Challenge

Who you gonna believe?

The Obama campaign or the esteemed Mr. Kurtz, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and NRO contributing editor, and investigative reporter.

The Obama campaign
Quote:
The suggestion that Ayers somehow dominated the policy or direction of the bipartisan Challenge Board, imprinting it with radical views, is absurd.
Investigative reporter:
Quote:
The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama's first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers's home.

The Obama campaign has struggled to downplay that association. Last April, Sen. Obama dismissed Mr. Ayers as just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood," and "not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis." Yet documents in the CAC archives make clear that Mr. Ayers and Mr. Obama were partners in the CAC. Those archives are housed in the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago and I've recently spent days looking through them.

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was created ostensibly to improve Chicago's public schools. The funding came from a national education initiative by Ambassador Walter Annenberg. In early 1995, Mr. Obama was appointed the first chairman of the board, which handled fiscal matters. Mr. Ayers co-chaired the foundation's other key body, the "Collaborative," which shaped education policy.
Quote:
The CAC's agenda flowed from Mr. Ayers's educational philosophy, which called for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and which downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Ayers taught at a radical alternative school, and served as a community organizer in Cleveland's ghetto.

In works like "City Kids, City Teachers" and "Teaching the Personal and the Political," Mr. Ayers wrote that teachers should be community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to American racism and oppression. His preferred alternative? "I'm a radical, Leftist, small 'c' communist," Mr. Ayers said in an interview in Ron Chepesiuk's, "Sixties Radicals," at about the same time Mr. Ayers was forming CAC.

CAC translated Mr. Ayers's radicalism into practice. Instead of funding schools directly, it required schools to affiliate with "external partners," which actually got the money. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down. Instead CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (or Acorn).

Mr. Obama once conducted "leadership training" seminars with Acorn, and Acorn members also served as volunteers in Mr. Obama's early campaigns. External partners like the South Shore African Village Collaborative and the Dual Language Exchange focused more on political consciousness, Afrocentricity and bilingualism than traditional education. CAC's in-house evaluators comprehensively studied the effects of its grants on the test scores of Chicago public-school students. They found no evidence of educational improvement.
Who you gonna believe? Both sides are presented here:

Obama appears to have flat-out lied about his relationship to Ayres and Dorhn. I find it sad that nobody is troubled by this. Not just his continued and deep association, but his lies to cover it up.

This man could become our next President, and I want to know why he would associate with such horrible and dangerous people. I want to find out if he shares any of their views. I think we all have a right to know such things.

Hard,

It appears our man is doing an old submariner routine just 4 weeks before election.

The Obama convoy has been happy and steaming thoughout the country.

Our wolfpack lays directly in the path of this convoy.

Now watch as we pick off each Obama tankers first to light the night sky with the freighters shadows.

Fire full spread into the Obama lies, keep the torps coming.

Amazing the media is on a feeding frenzy with this news.

One of these days, it might make the news. But maybe not.

Quote:
Barack Obama has offered his latest defense of his political partnership with William Ayers. Let’s call it Ayers v3.0. First, readers will recall, Ayers was just some guy in Mr. Obama’s Neighborhood, whose adult children somehow went to the same school as Obama’s daughters. When that didn’t fly, Obama allowed that they had worked on “a board” together, but never really interacted. Now with the records of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge showing that Obama worked closely with the unrepentant domestic terrorist for at least a decade on two boards, Obama has a new explanation — he thought Ayers was “rehabilitated”
!!!

When asked about the infamous 1995 launch of his political career in the Ayers' living room, just yesterday Obama said "I assumed that he had been rehabilitated."

Rise of Bill Ayers: IED Maker & Obama Mentor

The news is instead reporting about how McCain is pursuing "guilt by association" or whatever... whatever they can to do bash McCain and cover for BO. It's amazing and difficult to believe that they just don't understand. Apparently they just don't "get it".

Where is the outrage from mainstream America? Are we collectively that stupid? Even people like Arius, have to acknowledge Obama and his backroom friends are disturbing, at best.

McCain needs to come out hard and angry about the amount of deception and deceit being fed to Americans by Obama and the left. I believe that if America were exposed to the truth, Obama would falter and falter quickly. I want to see the angry, volatile McCain. I want emotion and genuine "straight talk". Screw the PC comments, expose this racist liar for ALL that he is!

I am convinced that someone could come out with videos of Obama with four-year-old boys and it would mean nothing to those who are under this spell.

I've never seen anything like it in my life!

Our support for McCain (war hero, bipartisan worker, etc.) is blind, ignorant, stupid, etc.
Their support for Obama is a wonderful thing.

Our support for Palin (all-American mom, mayor, governor with 80% approval rating) is blind, ignorant, stupid, etc.
Their support for Biden (we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon) is a wonderful thing.

I could go on and on. But the adoration of Obama is beyond any human thing, I think. We just have to let it play out to its conclusion, whatever that may be.

I've decided it's time to focus on the maroons running my township. We have a much better chance of letting common sense work its wonders there...

If I had to guess, there are a lot of people supporting Obama "because he's black".

If I had to guess, there are a lot of people supporting Obama "because he's the Democrat".

If I had to guess, there are a lot of people supporting Obama because they drink the MSM "kool-aid".

If I had to guess, there are a lot of people supporting Obama "because he's NOT George Bush"

(After 8 years of the MSM bashing Bush, then somehow they relate Bush to McCain... (because they are both Republican?))

If I had to guess, a lot of us would rather vote for Rocky The Flying Squirrel than HIllary, Dodd, Obama OR Biden... so I understand, sort of.

What I don't understand is their hatred of Capitalism... unless they went to school where there are professors such as Bill Ayers, Ward Churchill!

Obama, Acorn, Subprime loans... tying it all together.

Michelle Malkin » ACORN Watch, Pt II: Obama hid $800,000 payment to ACORN through “Citizen Services, Inc.”

Quote:
U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign paid more than $800,000 to an offshoot of the liberal Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now for services the Democrat’s campaign says it mistakenly misrepresented in federal reports.

An Obama spokesman said Federal Election Commission reports would be amended to show Citizens Services Inc. — a subsidiary of ACORN — worked in “get-out-the-vote” projects, instead of activities such as polling, advance work and staging major events as stated in FEC finance reports filed during the primary.
Oh. It was a "a mistake".

OHIO MAN BRIBED BY ACORN ACTIVISTS TO REGISTER TO VOTE 72 TIMES - New York Post

CLEVELAND - A man at the center of a voter-registration scandal told The Post yesterday he was given cash and cigarettes by aggressive ACORN activists in exchange for registering an astonishing 72 times, in apparent violation of Ohio laws.
"in apparent violation of Ohio laws." apparent???

And they want to blame Bush!!!!!!!!! The Gall!!!!

This is Mario's son, isn't it?
Check this out:

SO WHERE ARE ALL THE OBAMA SUPPORTERS? Goodnews, anyone?
You gonna let Arius defend Obama all by himself?
Someone please explain how this is Bush's fault!
