Campaign Reform Groups Criticize Obama's Failure to Speak Up on Convention Excess

( click here ) Despite a campaign that attacked corporate and special interest lobbyists as evil and banned their money and participation, Sen. Barack Obama has done little, if anything, about their pervasive, free-spending presence at the Democratic convention in Denver, ethics watchdog groups say.

Democrats demonize evil corporate and special interest lobbyists... usually. We hear "Clean elections", "campaign finance reform", "get the money out of politics", and all those slogans.

As a result, lobbyists are once again spending millions of dollars here on gourmet food, top-shelf liquor and private lavish parties for Democratic elected officials who seem more than happy to play the role of world-class freeloaders.

Oh by the way, what ever happened to that bill that was going around that would ban lobbyists? I guess that was unconstitutional, right?

How else would they get these lavish gifts of food, alcohol, and maybe even a lap dance?

We have to feel sorry for these poorly reimbursed representatives. Not only do we pay for a house, car and driver, free health care, retirement funds, hand maidens.

Wait a minute, God it sounds like I'm talking about an illegal immigrant!

Don't you feel bad for all these poor folks who represent us (use that term lightly). You know what I say, hand them a W9, have them fill it out and let them talk to the IRS for what they really need.

And how many out there really think these Conventions talk about the issues that affect the People of the United States? And by the way, don't we get to pay for these conventions? I think so. Aren't we lucky!
