Cool Jersey Traffic Tickets for PA Drivers

Hey - just want to let every one know that when you get a Jersey traffic ticket -- highly likely if you drive in Jersey from PA in the areas near the PA border -- you may get a letter from lawyers who offer to get you out of the ticket. If it is a minor infraction, like speeding or illegal turn, you should normally just pay the fine and therefor plead 'guilty'. ....because...it doesn't go directly on your PA license. Jersey will send the info about your ticket to PennDot, where they may or may not apply it to your license. If it's minor, they normally just ignore it, so it doesn't affect your car insurance.

Also - if they do report it to PennDot and they apply the ticket/points to your license -- you can still appeal that ruling with a hearing with PennDot -- that hearing is not a court hearing but just a hearing with a couple of PennDot employees where you can appeal to get the points removed.

I got this info from a Jersey attorney that got rid of a ticket for me to the tune of $350.00

ASLO - if you're driving in Jersey -- Top things to remember -- no cell phone without headset, AND, no left turn signs are EVERYWHERE -- you have to watch out for them at all times - cuz they post cops to catch you.

Good luck.

Welcome to the Forum. Interesting Post.

Got a question. Does this work too for people who have PA Tags who actually live in New Jersey? See a lot of PA tags. Would they have to verify to PA where they actually live since they don't seem to here in New Jersey? But maybe they don't have too because maybe they really don't have insurance?

I guess that's what the Auto Amnesty is all about?

Again welcome.

I didn't think NJ reported tickets to PA no matter what the offense was. Thought it had something to do with NJ unfairly targeting PA drivers.
