Its time to drill for oil, in the US, and NOW!

Enough of the liberal tree hugger sympathy. We have enough oil in our own country to cut the dependence of these foriegn oil suppliers by 70 percent. Brazil just opened the eyes of many in our govt. they say they will be able to become almost self sufficient in very little time, by drilling in the own country. We must take control and do the same. I would be willing to paint the oil rigs green, just to pacify the environmental nut jobs. We only have the liberal Democrats to blame. Wake up people!

I am willing to sacrifice a moth, perhaps even a few insects as well. I will continue to defend the unborn. You see, my priorities are pretty much in line with a caring human being. You, liberal tree hugger, baby killers are severely misguided. You are more concerned with the overblown nonsensical "Global Warming" issues than you are about the murdering of innocent fetuses. It is time we call it like it is.. We need to drill and we need to drill in a responsible manner, all while continuing to find alternative fuel sources. Oil is only a temporary commodity, but we must utilize our own sources NOW, and get away from the dependence of other nations.

You are correct. Even the right has some environmentalists, yet they do seem to be on the side of responsible drilling after the facts are uncovered. We can drill safely and effectively in multiple places within our own borders. We could make a substantial dent in our reliance on Venezuela, and Russian oil. We need to continue to search for more fuel efficient methods of transportation, but in the mean time, we need to drill.

That's odd, do you know of my work with pro-life groups around the area? Of course not, so not sure how you can spell out this diatribe.

And my feelings on the issue would be the same with or without global warming. I don't need that issue to guide my thoughts.

We don't "need" to drill at all, we need to stop using so much oil. You know the truth, if we drill for oil in places like ANWR, we will do nothing about our dependence on oil until that runs out. THIS is the time that we say "NO MORE DRILLING" and "NO MORE DEPENDENCE ON OIL" at the same time.

I remember this bullshit talk back in the late 1970's, and we are no further away from our dependence on oil as we were then. Imagine, 20+ years have gone by, and we still are so dependent on oil that we cannot live without it.

Again, I ask the question (although in a slightly more definite way): "Are you as willing to kill to drill in ANWR as I am willing to die to protect it?" That is what it will come down to, and believe me not a fool who will waver at all in this regard.

Why not just do as the right wing would have us do and invade all oil producing nations already drilling. This way, the Pentagon gets the war the want, the neocons get the oil they need, the liberals get the conservation they want, and we can "spread democracy" all over the planet.

It's a win-win, don't you agree?
