Corzine's very smart (or thinks he is). By cutting state aid now, Christie will get the blame when townships have to raise their own taxes.

They just can't stop playing games, can they?

LETS get the new governor or ANYONE to audit the NJ dep. Seems LOTS of tax $$ goes there and are allocated to benefit private enterprises. Problem I have is my tax $$ funds personal and private enterprises who EMPLOYEE former policy makers in the DEP.Anyone want to comment on that?? Or do the so called FARMERS (2nd generation after dep formation) land owners, voters, campaign donors, not want to risk their grants. Sorry, last time I looked at my canned goods they came from Iowa. The nations breadbasket, NOT the GIMME MORE empty basket thats South Jersey They Po'boys town.

Corzine hides a additional billion dollar hole from the Christie transition team.

He should be indicted.

It would have been nice if the article even remotely tried to get a response from the former Governor or his Treasurer. I don't trust Christie as far as I could throw him (which isn't far) either, so he may be making this a big deal or pretending that he had no idea to explain the pain in tax increases he will ask for. You know, the 'read my lips' followed by 'they lied to me' as an excuse to do what you had in mind all along.

Remember, candidate Christie mentioned tax breaks to the wealthiest New Jerseyans. I would assume he won't let that promise go unanswered, so watch out middle class, your about to get SCREWED....

Anyway, how does the state get a $1.2 BILLION revenue shortfall?

Arius (Yikes What a moniker) I don't need AN article for proof of 'conflicts of interest' I lived it first hand the NJdep and its policy, money allotting people and procedures should be investigated. The state of NJ gets too much of my income for it to be literally washed into the Delaweare Bay. (Let's just see where OUR $$ goes for Money Island's protection, give it 2 yrs) If they were a corporation, or on Wall Street their accounting and business practices would be termed illegal. Ever hear the phrases 'insider trading', or 'collusion'; kinda like back-room deals. Oh, and I'm not surprised you responded, after the post on nj.com, faifield twnshp, forum. Talk about a thorn, I'll go away when I die.
